New Member Orientation
Once we have all of the required paperwork, we go through an orientation with you; this is to welcome you to the club and answer any questions you have about cannabis medicine.
The orientation takes approximately 15 minutes in person or over the phone and can be done with just the patient or their caregiver. If you would like an in-depth orientation to cannabis, we are more than happy to take as long as required to ensure your comfort and confidence.
Give us a call at 250-381-4220 or email us at hellovcbc@gmail.com to arrange a phone orientation or to ask any questions you may have regarding the signup process.
If you prefer, you can fill out our French application here:
Accepted Conditions
The VCBC’s primary mandate is to provide its membership with safe access to medicinal cannabis and cannabis-related products. Basically, if you have any chronic condition and have a doctor’s note that states you have this condition, we would happily welcome you if you would like to join our club!
Membership at the VCBC requires a physician’s diagnosis of a permanent physical disease, condition, or disability. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept prescriptions of medications as proof of condition; the only exception is a prescription for cannabis or prescription opiates – see below for more information on opiate prescriptions.
Some examples of the conditions we accept (but are not limited to):
- Cancer
- Auto-immune diseases
- Chronic pain & Neuropathy
- Brain injury
- Arthritis
- Restless leg syndrome
- IBS
- Epilepsy
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Opiate Addiction – A prescription or receipt for Methadone, Methadose, or Suboxone is all that is needed, as opposed to a doctor’s note.
Cannabis and Mental Health
Many people who suffer from various mental health conditions can greatly benefit from cannabis and we at the VCBC recognize this. However, due to the correlation between schizophrenia, psychosis, and cannabis, we require a specific recommendation for cannabis from a healthcare practitioner for those treating Schizophrenia.
